GATE Counselling 2024

Students who are qualified in the GATE exam and willing to take admissions for higher studies need to participate in various GATE counselling processes.

GATE Counselling

The GATE counselling 2024 for admissions is centrally conducted by two major processes: CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan Admissions), COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal), and other counselling processes conducted at the state governments’ level.

CCMT Counselling 2024

CCMT is a common platform that provides a simplified admission process for students who are in search of admissions to M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. programs in premium institutes such as NITs, some IIITs, CFTIs, and IIEST Shibpur, considering their GATE scores of the present and also from the previous two years, through e-counselling services.

The list of the participating institutes will be released on its official website https://ccmt.admissions.nic.in/. The CCMT was initiated in the year 2012 and has been facilitating centralized admission to postgraduate programs through an online counselling process.

Candidates have to apply through the CCMT portal based on their GATE scores by selecting preferred programs in the participating institutes.

COAP Counselling 2024

COAP is a centralized platform for candidates who have qualified GATE for admissions in the participating IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and IISc (Indian Institute of Science) who offer M Tech programs.

It also provides job opportunities to the GATE qualified candidates in the recruitments offered by the participating PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings).

Every participating institute or PSUs have their own selection process and follow their own norms and guidance, hence applications need to be filled in the respective institutes or PSUs separately for seeking admission or job.

Participating in COAP is offered for no cost. Candidates should compulsorily register on this portal to avail COAP registration number which is required during the application process of participating institute offering PG courses or Job opportunities based on the GATE score.

Every year, the institute organizing the GATE exam in the preceding year acts as the coordinating institute for COAP.

In GATE counselling through CCMT, participating institutes provide their offers in the CCMT portal and candidates are required to register and apply for their preferred PG programs and respective institutes on the same web portal.

In GATE counselling through COAP 2024, institutes participating in the counselling will offer their seats on their institute’s official website.
