GATE Exam Date and Time in 2025

Usually the IITs/IISc conducts the GATE exam in the month of February. So according to the previous GATE exam date, the GATE exam expected date would be from 3rd-10th Feb 2025 to 11th-20th Feb 2025.

The GATE exam, which stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is an All India examination controlled and administered by 7 IITs and IISc. The main purpose of this examination is to test the understanding of undergraduate subjects and to gain admission into master’s programs.

The GATE Examination for 2025 is expected to be conducted by the INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ROORKEE. Students in their final year or who have completed their graduation in Engineering, Technology, Arts, Commerce, or Architecture are eligible to take this examination.

When will the GATE Exam Date Schedule be announced?

The official announcement for the GATE examination 2025 is yet to be made. As we already know, GATE 2025 is going to be conducted by IIT ROORKEE, the remaining information regarding exam dates, schedule, syllabus, eligibility, and other key information will be released by them in the month of August 2024 tentatively.

  • Number of Subjects (Papers): 30
  • Sections: General Aptitude (Compulsory) + Subjects selected by the candidates
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type Question (NAT)
  • Marks per Question: Every question usually carries 1 or 2 marks.
  • Negative Marking: For every wrong MCQ 1 marker question, ⅓ marks are deducted, and for every wrong MCQ 2 marker question, ⅔ marks are deducted. However, there is no negative marking in Numerical Answer type Questions.
